Battle of Britain Ceremony

At sunset on 20 September 2026, members of Upper Rideau Branch 542 came together to commemorate the 86th anniversary of the Battle of Britain- a battle which constituted the first military campaign fought solely from the air, and a battle which served the German forces their first strategic loss of WW II. It was a true turning point of the war.

Thanks go out to the organizing team of Branch Chaplain Bruce Kemp, Sgt at Arms Chris Cope and Piper Dave Brown for their active support to this event.  Thanks as well to Comrade Dennis Amacher , our "senior" RCAF Veteran, for agreeing to lay the commemorative wreath in honour of the 23 Canadian airmen who died during that three-month battle.

"We will remember them..."
